The Redding Fire Department has 8 Stations with 8 Engines and a Ladder Truck Staffed Daily. The NFPA Standard for an Engine Company is 3. As you can see, Redding only has a minimum staffing of 2 per engine. Currently only 2 of the 8 engines( Engine 3 and Engine 5) are staffed with 3 personnel.  Redding also staffs 1 Ladder Truck per day. Currently there are 3 personnel assigned to the Truck, however there is  no guarantees the 3 person staffing will stay for long. The NFPA Standard for a Truck Company is 4. For 2009, Redding ran an average of 38.5% more emergency runs than those of it comparable cities.
